With 125 million customers, 10,000 offices in 82 countries across Europe, the Americas, Middle East, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region, it’s not hard to see why HSBC describes itself as “the world’s local bank”. In the UK, it is planning to recruit about 400 graduates to start work in 2008 in areas such as corporate banking, retail management, investment banking, information technology, private banking and international management. HSBC expects to hold campus events at least 25 UK universities during the 2007-2008 recruitment round. It is ranked No 8 in The Times Top 100 Graduate Employers survey 2007.
